David Wengertsman dreams in digital vision...

My work defines my medium, whether though flickering digital images, sounds of electronic poetry, or words on a page into another world.

I enjoy walking the line that exists between order and chaos, reality and fantasy, light and dark. I strive to understand the balance of these opposites that exit in humanity and in the world. My work challenges the angels and demons of every dysfunctional character, some growing in understanding, others grasping in revenge. All of them filled with love and hate. What really makes us tick? Why do we choose the paths we walk? How do we create the crosses we bear? This is the adventurous journey of life. These are the seven sins we commit on the seven days of life. These are the seven seals of revelation we reach for as we give in to our seven desires.

I studied performance and media at Massachusetts College of Art. Inspired by the Dadaists and Surrealists, I began to challenge the way we see and hear and how our minds search for a meaning in the midst of chaos. It was there that began my intrigue with the world's polar opposites and how they work together successfully or unsuccessfully in all of us.

My work has grown through the years working with such theaters as The Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center, The Theater Offensive, and The Jorge Hernandez Cultural Center. I've worked on a numerous amount of theatrical shows and gallery exhibitions, playing many roles in the world of production. I've produced a few multi-media showcases of my work by bringing together the cutting edge artists and performers of Boston and exploring our art through the digital mind. I also served on the Members Board at Cambridge Community Television, where I continued to study media arts and digital video. My short films have been screened in various film festivals through out Boston and New York City. I have also enjoyed acting in many collaborative projects on stage and in film.
Currently, I am working on two scripts for theatrical productions. You can read excerpts on my writing page.

Thank you for reading and indulging in my seven desires. The mind is unlimited and the spirit eternal, so please continue to return to this expanding website.
